Environmental Health & Safety Management System
Top Performance Through Responsible Operations
Meeting compliance obligations and preventing accidents is only a foundation for any
responsible energy company. At Williams, we have built an effective, integrated system -
a management system - that ensures mission-critical activities are identified, planned,
conducted and controlled.
Responsible operations are embodied within Williams' Environmental, Health and Safety Policy,
as well as within the company's core values. Our EHS management system provides requirements and guidelines that serve to protect our employees and the public while improving the communities where we operate.
Williams' EHS management system provides a broad-based set of elements and requirements for
all of our operations. This management system helps us all to focus on critical EHS objectives
to better forecast and allocate resources, set direction for activities, engage external
stakeholders and consistently deliver improved performance. The management system consists of
twelve major elements that articulate the required achievements in each area.
These elements go beyond our basic obligation to fully comply with all legal and regulatory
requirements. Achieving these levels of performance will help ensure:
- All employees, contractors and other affiliates are well informed, well trained and engaged and committed to the EHS improvement process
- Provide a secure working environment by protecting employees, our communities, our assts and our operations against risk of injury, loss or damage
- Maintain public confidence in the integrity of our operations
- Regularly provide assurance that the processes in place are working effectively.
