Williams’ common stock (WMB) is listed on the New York and Pacific stock exchanges. Williams’ $3.50 cumulative convertible preferred stock is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission but is not listed on any exchange.

The market value on Dec. 31, 1997, of all NYSE-listed securities of Williams and its wholly owned subsidiaries was more than $9.1 billion, all of which was common stock. On that date, approximately 12,250 shareholders of record held Williams common stock. Adjusted for the Dec. 29, 1997, two-for-one stock split and distribution, the company’s common stock in 1997 traded at a daily average of 1,242,796 shares.

Williams Common Stock Activity
Williams common stock split two-for-one effective Dec. 29, 1997. Williams paid a quarterly per-share common stock dividend of approximately 13 cents and 11.35 cents during the first three quarters of 1997 and 1996, respectively. The quarterly per-share dividend increased to 15 cents and 13 cents in the fourth quarters of 1997 and 1996, respectively.
