        The Williams Companies common stock, symbol WMB, is listed on the New York and Pacific stock exchanges. Other Williams securities traded on the New York Stock Exchange and their trading symbols are Quarterly Income Capital Securities (QUICS), WMZ; and $2.21 cumulative preferred stock, WMB-A. Williams' $3.50 cumulative convertible preferred stock is registered with the Securi ties and Exchange Commission but not listed on any exchange. At the close of business on Dec. 31, 1995, approximately 50,000 investors, including 11,933 shareholders of record, held Williams common stock. At that time, the market value of all NYSE-listed securities of Williams and its wholly owned subsidiaries was more than $4.5 billion, of which common stock repre sented 99.5 percent.
