When performing pipeline construction in Tampa Bay, Fla., Gulfstream Natural Gas System employs special marine biologists called as “manatee spotters” to patrol the offshore construction area and search for manatee. If a manatee is spotted, construction work is halted until the manatee has safely left the area.

The Houston Best Places to Work program ranks companies based on the quality of their work environment. Scoring is based on employee responses to an anonymous online survey.

The United Way of America has recognized Williams with a Summit award for community investment. The Summit is one of the organization's most prestigious awards, second only to the Spirit of America® award, which Williams received in 1997.

R.J. Wollam Elementary School in Santa Fe, Texas was destroyed last fall after Hurricane Ike ripped off the roof and caused nearly a foot of flooding.
