#MoreThanAnInternship

Staff Reports

Hey everyone, Lexie here! I have had the opportunity of interning in Williams’ Communications and Strategic Outreach department these last few months. As a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University, I can say my past four years as a college student prepared me for this amazing internship program.

Although I started the program a few weeks late and had to say farewell to my intern class a few weeks early, I’ve built countless friendships and professional relationships and developed more skills than I thought possible in 11 weeks. I was able to apply what I learned in the classroom and attained real, working world experience that will help me succeed in the future.

C&SO covers a broad spectrum of corporate communications duties. I was able to work in numerous areas dealing with media relations, social content, public awareness and project communications. I also gained first-hand exposure to vendor relations and gave meaningful input on projects that was valued by my coworkers and upper management.

I am excited to release one of my favorite assignments from this summer, the internship experience video! Find out what current and past interns took away from this program, what activities they participated in and their overall thoughts on working for Williams.

Also, hear from Frank Billings, senior vice president of Corporate Strategic Development at Williams, about what sets Williams’ internship program apart.
