WHAT MAJORS DOES WILLIAMS RECRUIT?

We recruit for engineering (chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical and industrial are preferred), business (finance and accounting are preferred) and information technology (MIS or computer science preferred).

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN INTERNSHIP AT WILLIAMS?

We offer challenging intern opportunities in engineering, information technology and business. If you have the ability and drive to learn from the best in the industry and the desire to contribute to something bigger than yourself, you’ll fit right in. Throughout the summer you’ll have the opportunity to interact with and learn from our leadership team and other Williams employees in addition to activities with your fellow interns. We provide robust training and development throughout your internship to accelerate your knowledge and help you succeed in a high-performing environment.

HOW LONG ARE THE INTERNSHIPS AT WILLIAMS?

Internships span 12 weeks over the summer.

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE OF THE RECRUITING PROCESS?

Each semester we are on campuses around the country recruiting interns and future graduates. We begin on-campus recruiting in August. Interviews take place after the Career Fair and offers are typically extended to students in October or November. Depending on organizational needs, we may recruit for opportunities in the spring as well.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR AN INTERNSHIP AT WILLIAMS?

Submit your application here August 13 to September 28.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR AN ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEW?

Review our annual reports, current industry topics, talk to current employees, former interns and your professors. Your school’s career services office also may have information to assist you including practice interviews, questions and advice. Arrive a few minutes early and have a copy of your resume with you. Business dress is appropriate.

WHERE WILL MY INTERNSHIP BE LOCATED?

Location assignments will be determined after offers are accepted and based on business need. Intern preferences are taken into consideration whenever possible. Locations vary from an office environment, to assignments at our field assets and sometimes a combination of both. Many interns get to travel to field locations even if they are based in one of our offices.

ARE WILLIAMS INTERNSHIPS PAID?

Yes, all of our internships are paid positions. Every year we assess industry and market standards to determine fair and competitive pay. We also offer assistance in summer housing.

DO YOU HIRE INTERNS FOR FULL TIME POSITIONS AFTER GRADUATION?

Our summer interns are our largest talent pipeline into our entry-level roles and our rotational program.

TECHNICAL INTERNSHIP FAQS

WHAT MAJORS DOES WILLIAMS RECRUIT?

Requirements for a technical internship vary depending on the asset supported and the location. Generally, we recruit for Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Automotive Technology, Corrosion Technology, Diesel Technology, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Controls Technology, Instrumentation & Electrical Technology, Maintenance Technology, Natural Gas Compression, Petroleum & Natural Gas Technology, Power Generation Technology and Process Operations & Technology.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A TECHNICAL INTERNSHIP?

Since most of our technical internships are filled from local technical school talent, please check here in mid-February to see if we are recruiting from a technical school in your area and apply.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR AN INTERVIEW?

Review our annual reports, current industry topics, talk to current employees, former interns and your professors. If your school has a career services office, they may have information to assist you including practice interviews, questions and advice. Read online about the STAR model of interviewing. Arrive a few minutes early and have a copy of your resume with you. Business casual dress is appropriate unless otherwise instructed by your school.

WHERE WILL MY INTERNSHIP BE LOCATED?

Technical interns are assigned to a field location, supporting a local asset. One exception is a Maintenance Technician intern, who works with our building maintenance team and is located in our Tulsa headquarters.
