University Internship faqs
We recruit for engineering (chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical and industrial are preferred), business (finance and accounting are preferred) and information technology (MIS or computer science preferred).

Throughout the summer you’ll have the opportunity to interact with and learn from our leadership team and other Williams employees in addition to activities with your fellow interns. We provide robust training and development throughout your internship to accelerate your knowledge and help you succeed in a high-performing environment.

Review our annual reports, current industry topics, talk to current employees, former interns and your professors. Your school’s career services office also may have information to assist you including practice interviews, questions and advice. Arrive a few minutes early and make sure a copy of your resume is available in the format requested. Business dress is appropriate.
Once you apply for an open position, if selected you will be invited to submit a recorded HireVue video interview. Those who progress to round two will be asked to participate in an in-person or video interview with a Williams champion.
Location assignments are based on business need and will be included in formal offers. Engineering roles may be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Salt Lake City, Utah or Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. Business roles may be in Tulsa, Houston or Pittsburgh. Information Technology roles are in Tulsa. For most roles, an opportunity to submit a location preference is provided with your application which will be taken into consideration.
Yes, all of our internships are paid positions. Every year we assess industry and market standards to determine fair and competitive pay. We also offer assistance in summer housing.
Our summer interns are our largest talent pipeline into our entry-level roles and our rotational program.
TECHNICAL INTERNSHIP FAQS
Requirements for a technical internship vary depending on the asset supported and the location. Generally, we recruit for Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Automotive Technology, Corrosion Technology, Diesel Technology, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Controls Technology, Instrumentation & Electrical Technology, Maintenance Technology, Natural Gas Compression, Petroleum & Natural Gas Technology, Power Generation Technology and Process Operations & Technology.

Technical interns are assigned to a field location, supporting a local asset. One exception is a Maintenance Technician intern, who works with our building maintenance team and is located in our Tulsa headquarters.
