The de-ethanizer tower reaches Oak Grove on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Thank you to all of you that helped move Williams’ de-ethanizer tower to its new home at our Oak Grove facility.

It took many people coordinating on multiple levels to enable the de-ethanizer tower to move safely to its new location at our Oak Grove natural gas processing facility on Fork Ridge Road in Moundsville, W.Va. The Marshall Count Sheriff’s department controlled the rolling closures to ensure others traveling the same roads could turn off before encountering the tower, or could safely pull over until the tower passed.

The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency coordinated with the moving team to ensure that, in the case of an emergency, first responders could get through. Local utility teams worked well in advance of the move to make sure lines were raised so they would not be hit by the tower as it progressed down the road.

Many members of the moving team were especially glad for all the residents who came out of their homes to wave and watch the remotely controlled Goldhofer trailer successfully move the tower tight curves and turns.

We have one more tower to move in the coming weeks and will again work to inform you in advance of the move to minimize any disruption to your schedule. But we hope you will come out a second time and cheer on the moving team who will again escort the tower to our Oak Grove facility.
