Williams volunteers were back in action at California University of Pennsylvania to judge the National Fluid Power Association’s Fluid Power Challenge.

Twenty-five teams representing 20 different middle schools from across the Pittsburgh area came together to design and build a fluid power mechanism in a timed competition.

As part of competition day, each team came up with their own unique design device and built it in a timed competition to solve the engineering problem using their creativity and fluid power knowledge.

Students were judged on teamwork, design, best portfolio, and overall participation.

Congratulations to all of the students on a job well done. Here are some of the award winners:

Started in Pittsburgh in 2011 by Wojanis Supply Company, the Fluid Power Challenge provides students a healthy environment to introduce and education young students about fluid power. Williams is proud to be a sponsor of this great event where students use teamwork, engineering, and problem solving skills to build a strong pipeline of talent for the future workforce.
