Providing assistance for electricity bills

Williams was pleased to present a grant to help residents in northeast Pennsylvania who struggle to make their electric bill payments.

In collaboration with the Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc., Williams provided a $25,000 grant to establish the Claverack Member Assistance Fund, an endowment to support low income residents serviced by Claverack Rural Electric.

“Our member assistance fund is critical in helping those in need,” said Bobbi Kilmer, President and CEO of  Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. “We plan to make additional contributions to the endowment so that the fund can help members for many years to come.”

The effort to support the Member Assistance Fund was spearheaded by Williams employees Matt Schaffer, project manager and Ty Christy, project developer. The grant funds were provided through a Williams development project in northeast Pennsylvania.

Over the years, Williams and Claverack have developed a strong working relationship, with the Coop providing electricity service to Williams projects in the northeast.
