Meet Williams’ Mike Dickinson on NPR

Staff Reports

If you’ve got four minutes, you can meet Williams’ Mike Dickinson.

He recently spoke with National Public Radio about the infrastructure that is needed to move the state’s  natural gas resources into the marketplace.

The interview with NPR’s Joel Rose  took place at our Lathrop compressor station near Wilkes-Barre.

The entire story lasts for 4 minutes and 39 seconds. Mike’s comments are featured near the front.

“Pipelines [in relation to natural gas] are kind of like the railroads are to the coal industry, or the high line wires are to the electricity industry,” Mike said.

“We have to have those pipelines – that infrastructure – to get this gas to the place that it can be used.”

In May, Mike will surpass 12 years of service with Williams. He manages operations and technical services for our Pennsylvania midstream activities.

Our midstream business helps develop pipelines, compressors and processing facilities that handle natural gas once it comes from a wellhead.

New pipelines are important to the development of the Marcellus Shale.
