Lathrop compressor shut down

Staff Reports

On Thursday, March 29 at approximately 11:40 a.m. Eastern Time, a fire occurred at Williams’ Lathrop compressor station near Springville in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.

Emergency shutdown equipment worked properly to isolate and minimize the incident, and emergency procedures were immediately activated, which included notifying local authorities and evacuating all personnel.  Thankfully, all employees and contractors who were at the station at the time of the fire are safe and accounted for and there were no injuries resulting from this incident.  The station is now shut down.

The company’s top priority right now is ensuring the safety of our employees and the surrounding community, as well as cooperating with the local emergency responders.  Once it is safe to return to the station, we will begin a thorough investigation into the cause of this incident.

As we get new information, we will provide it.
