BBQ Cook-Off Brings Flavor to NEPA Community, Benefits United Way

Staff Reports

Cabot Oil and Gas received the Grand Champion award during the first Williams Marcellus Barbecue Cook-Off.

We loved having you at the first Williams Marcellus Barbecue Cook-Off!

Nearly 400 area neighbors attended this flavorful event Oct. 5 at the Nicholson Carnival Grounds in Wyoming County.

Competing teams of barbecue experts – largely representing energy companies in the region – made 19 savory barbecue variations – for a good cause.

So far, more than $20,000 has been raised from ticket sales and sponsorships, $6,000 of which was raised during the People’s Choice vote.

Williams’ corporate match will double that and all proceeds will benefit our neighbors served by United Way agencies in Susquehanna County, Wyoming County, and Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania, and in Broome County in New York.

Teams of judges and other sponsors also participated in this fun, family event. They served as barbecue tasters and helped crown the winners. For a full list of teams and sponsors, click here.

We thank you for all your support and look forward to hosting our cook-off for years to come.
