Keith_ZachAbout the author: Howdy!  My name is Zach and I am an alum of Oklahoma State University.  I have been with Williams for about a year and a half, previously as an intern and currently as a member of the engineering rotational program.  I hope to share my experiences as I ride the rollercoaster of starting my professional career and adapting to the “real world.”

So the first thing you need to know about me is that I am an OSU Cowboy through and through.  Now that that’s understood, I want to open up my blog series by telling you a little more about myself and why I want to record my experiences and adventures in this blog.  But let’s step back a bit… way back…. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and I could not be more proud.  To bare my soul a little bit, I live and breathe OKC Thunder basketball!  I love the underdog story and the perseverance of character and hard work.

My experience with Williams started in the summer of 2012 as an engineering intern in our then Pipeline Integrity group.  In May of 2013, I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.  The next month, I officially joined the Williams team as a member of the rotational program.  During my first year at Williams, I worked as a civil engineer in the Compressor Station & Plant Engineering group in the Houston office.  Now in my second year, I am in our Channelview, TX field office, working as an area engineer supporting our NGL and Petrochemical Feedstock Pipelines.  We will dive deeper into those roles in future blogs.

In this blog series, I plan to discuss my work experiences, key lessons learned, interesting developments in Williams and the natural gas industry, and topics that readers submit.  If you, as a reader, would like to hear more about a particular topic, drop me a line in the comments section, and I will try to work that into the blog as soon as I can.  I hope to learn from you as I share my thoughts and experiences.

I hope you will join me on my adventures as I seek to grow both professionally and personally.  I plan to intertwine a little goofiness and fun as I attempt to write a blog of substance that will make you as excited about Williams and the natural gas industry as I am.  Learn It, Love It, Live It!
