Working for the Most Admired in U.S. Energy

Staff Reports

About the author: My name is Evan. I was born and raised in the great city of Oklahoma City, Okla. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s of science in Electrical Engineering. Boomer Sooner! I am a “Big Brother” with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, and I absolutely love it. I began working for the former Access Midstream two years ago and became a Williams employee in early 2015.

Williams was recently named the No.1 Most Admired U.S. Energy Company for 2015 by FORTUNE® Magazine. This came as no real surprise as there are two qualities in particular that resonate with me why Williams is the most admired energy company: our integrity and the quality of our people. During my interview experience, it was clear that this was a company that displayed traits of can-do attitude, excellent customer service, and a “hands on” approach towards project execution culture. It was an easy decision to come to work here.

Integrity is a part of our everyday culture, and it is also listed at the top of our company Core Values & Beliefs. We uphold integrity by devoting a significant effort towards teaching and coaching in order to build strong leaders. And at Williams, everyone is a leader! I enjoy working with every single colleague, and it is apparent that the integrity of operation, execution, and customer-centered culture is a product of the company’s well-executed vision.

In an environment where it may seem inevitable to compromise, Williams has always held itself responsible to its employees, customers, and community by committing to constructing and operating facilities in a safe manner. This had a profound effect on me, and as I reflect to my beginnings with Williams, I feel absolutely confident that I made the right choice to work with the most admired energy company.
