A Unique Perspective from the Field

Staff Reports

About the author: Hi, my name is Eulojio and I am an engineering intern for Williams in Tunkhannock, Pa. with the Technical Services Team in the Susquehanna Supply Hub (SSH). I attend Oklahoma State University majoring in Industrial Engineering and Management. I started at Williams the summer of 2014 with Project Development in Tulsa, Okla., and I have enjoyed learning about the gas industry and making great connections and friends. This summer, I have had the great fortune of shadowing operators, working with many great people and learning how we make energy happen.

I was looking forward to spending a majority of my summer out in the field and was sent to Pennsylvania to begin my new adventure. What a learning adventure this has been! I had never seen a smart pig before and I got to experience first-hand how pigging works and why it is important to have our pipelines cleaned. I began working with compressors, got my hands dirty and changed some valves that needed to be replaced.

Working in the field this summer has given me a unique perspective and a continued respect for hard work. Everyone’s willingness to help me develop as an employee and as an individual has been phenomenal, and I have enjoyed learning as much as I can from my mentors and the operators.

My experiences in the field and in the corporate office have showed me so much about our business and how collaboration is key to our success. Everyone at Williams plays an important role and my experiences this summer have allowed me to accomplish many of my personal and work goals.
