Williams’ Gulfstar One delivers first oil at Gunflint

Staff Reports

Gulfstar’s standard design approach allows customers to reduce their cycle time from discovery to first oil.

Mark Cizek, Williams’ Gulf East vice president and general manager, says the project represents a huge win for Williams, not only from a business development perspective, but also because of outstanding safety statistics.

“Our engineering and construction team has not only pulled together to execute this extremely difficult brownfield project, but also achieved one million safely-worked man-hours along the way,” says Cizek. “Safely achieving first oil for the Gunflint tieback is a fantastic accomplishment for all involved.”

The Gunflint development, located at Mississippi Canyon Block 948, is anticipated to reach a minimum gross production of 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with oil representing approximately 75 percent of the volumes produced.
