Hi! My name is Hannah, and I’m a recent grad from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. This summer I’m proud to be a member of the Williams Intern Class of 2017, working in Communications and Strategic Outreach on the Internal Communications team. My desk is nestled on the 50th floor of the Williams tower in Tulsa, which gives me a great bird’s-eye view of my native city!
As a communicator and a writer, I have a passion for telling and hearing stories. Last week, at the Williams Intern Institute, I had the great opportunity to do just that. Williams interns from all over the country gathered together in Tulsa for three days of learning, professional development, networking and social events.
Williams has 38 interns representing 17 different colleges and universities.
This year, the 38 Williams interns represent 17 different colleges and universities from around the country. We’re a colorful group, with a variety of majors, backgrounds and interests. Getting to meet the interns from Salt Lake, Houston, Pittsburgh and a handful of field locations was the highlight of the Intern Institute for me. Our stories are all so different, so unique, and yet we’re all part of the same big story.
“Williams feels like a family,” Olivia, an intern stationed in New York, told me. And Micah, who works in West Virginia, added, “We’re all in the same boat.” I couldn’t agree more.
One Williams, One Mission is a huge emphasis within the company, and our intern class is a great representation of this motto. Like pieces of a mosaic, each of us contributes our own unique perspective and experience to the Williams story. I’m excited to start sharing our interns’ stories with you here on Pipe Up and on our social media channels throughout the summer! Whether we’re in the tower in Houston or in the field in Big Flats, N.Y., or anywhere in between, we’re all on the same team. We really are One Williams. #morethananinternship
