Payvand Fazel
Professional Experience
Payvand Fazel serves as Senior Vice President of Commercial at Williams, leading enterprise-wide commercial strategy, customer engagement, and commercial integration across the companyās natural gas value chain. In this role, he advances Williamsā commercial portfolio, strengthens customer partnerships, and helps position the company as a leading provider of clean, reliable natural gas infrastructure.
Previously, Payvand served as Vice President of Western Interstates, where he oversaw the newly combined MountainWest and Northwest Pipeline operations, commercial, and business development teams. This integrated Western organization was established to optimize Williamsā regulated natural gas transmission and storage assets, enhance collaboration, and improve customer responsiveness across the region.
Since joining Williams in 2011, Payvand has held multiple leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice President, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Operations & Commercial; Vice President, Strategic Development, where he led corporate strategy, M&A, LNG strategy, and corporate market intelligence; and Vice President, Commodity Marketing and NGL Commercial, where he oversaw Williamsā commodity marketing function and led commercial, logistics, and business development activities across the companyās NGL value chain. Before joining Williams, Payvand began his career at Flint Hills Resources, a subsidiary of Koch Industries.
Recognition
Payvand was named to Oil and Gas Investorās 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 and recognized as an Outstanding Young Alumni of Oklahoma State Universityās Spears School of Business.
Education
Payvand holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Business Administration, both from Oklahoma State University.
Industry/Community Leadership
Payvand is deeply engaged in professional and community leadership. He currently serves on the Executive Committee and Mission Expansion Committee for Family & Childrenās Services.
His prior board service includes the Northwest Gas Association, Western Energy Institute Board of Directors, and The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges.
