Senior Vice President, Operational Safety & Reliability

Professional Experience
Matt Hastings became Senior Vice President of Operational Safety & Reliability in July 2025. His responsibilities include health and safety, environmental, asset integrity, pipeline control and measurement. These teams are advancing a risk-based approach to asset management. Prior to Hastings’ current role, he served as vice president, Safety & Operational Discipline, and vice president/general manager for the Gathering & Processing Central operations area, overseeing gas assets in the Barnett, Haynesville, Eagle Ford and Permian basins. Hastings also served as a director in Corporate Strategic Development, where he had the opportunity to lead the NorTex and Hartree storage acquisitions, as well as the Bayou Ethane divestiture.

Hastings has also led operations teams as a senior operations manager and director in the Four Corners Area and Rocky Mountain Midstream, respectively. Hastings joined Williams in 2003 as an engineer and later returned in 2014 as part of the Access Midstream acquisition. Before returning to Williams in 2014, Matt worked in various engineering roles for Chesapeake Energy and Access Midstream, and flow assurance for Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Education
Hastings received his Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration with energy focus from the University of Oklahoma.
