SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: IMPORTANT NATURAL GAS HUB
Southwest Louisiana stands out as an important regional natural gas hub, serving as a strategic bridge between the abundant Haynesville supply and the dynamic Gulf Coast LNG and industrial energy markets. Williams has proudly operated in the Ragley area for decades, and recent expansions—such as the Louisiana Energy Gateway pipeline—are further strengthening reliability and access to energy resources. Gillis is emerging as a prime corridor for expansion, not only for Williams but also for companies across the entire energy value chain. Beyond Beauregard Parish, our footprint and project extend south into Calcasieu Parish. This growth brings exciting opportunities for both the community and industry to work together to meet rising energy demands in a collaborative and mutually beneficial way.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
Gillis Treater/ Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) Facility
The Gillis Facility is a conventional amine treating plant at the LEG pipeline terminus designed to process non-pipeline-quality natural gas containing approximately 3.5% CO₂. The facility removes CO₂ to meet downstream pipeline specifications and is engineered with the flexibility to integrate a carbon capture system.
Driftwood Line 200
The Driftwood Line 200 project is a joint venture between Williams and Woodside Energy, designed to deliver reliable, clean energy to power industry and communities. Williams will hold 80% ownership and serve as the operator of this fully permitted greenfield pipeline and compressor station, which will connect Woodside’s Louisiana LNG export facility to major regional pipelines, including Transco and LEG, thereby enhancing access to domestically sourced natural gas.
Green Line
The Green Line will safely transport captured CO₂ from our Gillis treating facility to ExxonMobil’s existing pipeline network. The captured CO₂ will be transported for enhanced oil recovery outside of Louisiana. This project reduces emissions while preserving reliable natural gas infrastructure that our families, businesses, and country depend on every day.
