Southern West Virginia recently experienced significant flooding, resulting in devastating impacts. Williams is responding to assist in recovery efforts, including monetary and volunteer assistance.
Due to the widespread recovery efforts directed at the region, our financial support will be earmarked for the Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department for recovery and disaster assistance on behalf of the Williams Foundation.
Clendenin, West Virginia was one of the areas hardest hit by flooding, and the volunteer fire department was no exception, losing most of its equipment and station to flooding. Our support for the Clendenin VFD will enable the fire department to continue to provide emergency services to the community and help them return to full operations sooner.
In an effort that truly reflects our desire to assist the communities where we live and work, Williams employees recently traveled to flooded areas of West Virginia to help with clean-up efforts. In addition, Williams’ West Virginia and Pittsburgh offices are collecting much-needed items and transporting them to Clendenin and Elkview, West Virginia, where recovery efforts are underway.
Recognizing this is a tragedy that will be in recovery mode for many months, Williams will continue to organize volunteer efforts and collections over the coming months.
If you would like to help, you can donate directly to the Red Cross or the United Way. Volunteer information is also available through these links.
