Throughout the nation, wherever Williams operates, we support first responders. As a pipeline and natural gas infrastructure company it only makes sense that local fire departments are trained and funded to protect our communities, our families and our assets.
In western Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, a series of massive springtime wildfires have taxed the resources of these largely volunteer departments. The Alva, Oklahoma Fire Department is one of those. We are proud to support our employee Glenn Cushenbery, a senior tech specialist in our Waynoka field office, who serves as a volunteer firefighter with the AFD. For Glenn, it’s a family tradition. His dad is a retired full-time Alva firefighter while his son currently serves with the department full-time.
Through Williams’ Homegrown Giving program, Glenn requested a grant of $2,500 to help provide breathing apparatus for new firefighters. Here’s a video news release about the grant that was posted on the website of the Alva Review-Courier.
