Cooking with gas: How restaurants are adjusting during COVID-19

Staff Reports

Did you know that most professional chefs prefer cooking with gas? Natural gas is a more reliable heat source because it allows you to easily manage the temperature through adjusting the flame.

Reliability is just what restaurants need these days. As restaurants have closed doors to dine-in customers, many are adjusting their business to take care of customers while protecting their workforce and families.

“We are now offering curbside pickup and delivery options for customers,” said Fred Zakerion, owner of Pita Place Mediterranean Grill in Tulsa, Okla. “Cooking with natural gas gives us the ability to cook efficiently and get orders out the door.”

Many of us are also choosing to cook at home and finding new recipes is not only fun, but practical! Take a look at these two recipes, prepared by restaurants near our headquarters in Tulsa.
