Natural gas is fueling our communities

Families across America are spending more time at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic – cooking more meals, using more hot water for dishes and laundry and adjusting the thermostat to stay warm or cool down.

During these challenging times it’s nice to know that your natural gas utility is working behind the scenes to keep the natural gas flowing to help meet these basic needs.

Leadership at the American Gas Association (AGA) reminded us in a recent opinion feature in the Washington Examiner that “we can all be assured that our natural gas utilities are working around the clock to deliver for homes, treatment facilities, and hospitals and making sure our first responders and medical professionals can continue their lifesaving work now and in the future.”

The nation’s natural gas delivery network is built to handle this additional load, said authors of the article, Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the American Gas Association, and Diane Leopold, co-chief operating officer of Dominion Energy and chair of the American Gas Association.

And Williams is here to reliably supply these utilities with the natural gas to meet these needs. Each day, Williams provides more than half of New York City’s natural gas. On the west coast, we provide nearly 90% of the natural gas consumed in Washington state. Our network of natural gas systems reliably transports natural gas day after day to meet the needs of communities across the country.

In this stressful time, one thing you don’t have to worry about is your natural gas service. America’s natural gas utilities and Williams are here to serve.
