Williams’ Southeast Supply Enhancement project will ensure reliable and affordable energy as demand grows across the region, according to a recent article in The Carolina Journal.

Trisha Ostrowski, executive director of the Carolinas Natural Gas Coalition, wrote that stakes are high for families and communities because, “When natural gas pipeline capacity stalls, power bills surge.”

She noted that reliable natural gas infrastructure is essential to balancing growing electricity demand and supporting renewables, adding that without it, “working families pay the price.”

With strong bipartisan and local support, SSE reflects a practical, all-of-the-above energy approach, one that helps the region avoid the higher costs seen in areas with constrained infrastructure.

The project will expand capacity on the existing pipeline system through compressor and infrastructure upgrades, helping deliver more natural gas to homes and power generators in North Carolina and surrounding states.

The SSEP is a powerful example of what it truly means to unleash America’s full energy potential — a strategic infrastructure investment that will deliver reliable, affordable, and increasingly cleaner natural gas to support long-term economic growth.
